Born in Istanbul, F. Zeynep Bilge studied singing at Istanbul University State Conservatory between 1991 and 1994. She received her B.A. (with the second highest degree amongst 100 students) in English Language and Literature from Istanbul University in 1999. She received her M.A. degree in English Language and Literature from Istanbul University in 2001 with her thesis entitled “The Intruder Figure in Contemporary British Drama”. In July 2008 she received her PhD degree with her dissertation entitled “An Alternative Mode of Communication: Songs and Singing in Shakespeare’s Tragedies”. F. Zeynep Bilge is currently working as a Doctor in the Department of English Language and Literature.
She is going to conduct a postdoctoral research at Cardiff University, School of English, Communication and Philosophy between April and December 2012 on Shakespearean librettos in contemporary English opera.
